I have always loved classical Greek mythology and history. The Parthenon, Odysseus and Helen of Troy, Achilles and Perseus. The Minotaur, the maze, and the fabled city of Knossos. The story of Icarus and Daedalus was a natural side trip for me after beginning the Canopus series. With my fascination for wings and vessels, armor forms, and flight, the leap was easily made. The myth manifested itself in several different versions throughout the years while revisiting my fascination with Bulfinch and the bull dancers.
